Welcome to a community led fundraising initiative to acquire and construct a new playground at the existing Lion’s Den site. It’s a big project and we need a lot of help, both in dollars and in volunteer hours.

Plan of Action:

• PLAN 1 (~$1.5M): Brand new playground equipment with three dedicated play areas:

  • Tot Lot - play equipment for 1-4 year olds

  • School Aged - play equipment for 5-12 year olds, with a custom designed tree house and several accessible play elements throughout

  • Performing Arts Area - the MS Dixie come to life with a stage to perform for families! Just watch out for Tahoe Tessie :)

  • Train Retrofit
     

• PLAN 2 (~$1.75M): PLAN 1 plus sheltered picnic area with built in BBQ feature. Great for your next birthday party!
   

• PLAN 3 (~$2.5M): PLAN 1 & 2 plus rubber or corkine flooring throughout the park for increased accessibility

  • Updated water play equipment
     

Approvals:
 The park is owned and operated by the City of Reno. We’ve received letters of conditional approval for the initial design.
