Funding led by the Trainor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization with a history of investments in improving outdoor play spaces for the children of Northern Nevada.
The Trainor Foundation began in 2000, committed to a mission to introduce children in the Reno-Sparks area to the beauty and joy to be found in outdoor recreation. Since its founding, the Trainor Foundation has conducted nearly 100 trips, introducing over 3000 children to downhill skiing, cross country skiing, river rafting, challenge courses, San Francisco Bay sailing and overnight summer camps at Camp WeChMe.
Prior to the foundation’s inception, Jack and Colleen Trainor personally funded community improvements to the existing Kiddie Land at Idlewild, the Idlewild skatepark, the Northwest Reno Library, and the Jim Howard pedestrian bridge at Dorostkar Park.
